California’s first Japanese Tea Garden was created in Hayward. It is also thought to be the first Tea Garden in the western States. It’s four gazebos, pond with Coy and turtles, and paths create a tranquil escape from a busy day. Being off the beaten tourist track, there are seldom many people there which adds to the peacefulness.
